What’s Happening!

Sheri Nichols

Sheri Nichols, Executive Director for Plateau Pregnancy Services

At our January meeting Sheri Nichols gave our group an outstanding presentation on work being done to help many young adults and their children here in our communities.  Presentations, within our schools, on the subject of drug abuse, pregnancy and religion have made a huge difference in our youth, helping them to forge a positive future in their lives and the lives of their children.

Rev. Andrew J. Abraham,

Our guest speaker for the December 1st meeting spoke about Operation Desert Storm.  Rev. Abraham is also working in an effort to have a Desert Storm memorial erected at the Washington Mall.

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier visits Lake Tansi

The Rome, Georgia Exchange Club visited Lake Tansi with their replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier & crypts for the Korean War, WWII, and the Vietnam Conflict.  Students from Brown Elementary School come to hear the excellent presentation given by the Rome Exchange Club volunteers.

The Annual Soup & Salad dinner was a huge success with a full house in attendance.  Over $2,000 was raised to aid in the prevention of child abuse.  Our Auctioneer, Sheriff Casey Cox, did a great job once again.

Lots of Goodies to bid on!

Gary Rabuck won the bidding on the lottery tickets and then donated the tickets back to the Exchange Club.  Thanks Gary!  Maybe we can win that million for the kids!
